Pilates and Yoga
Fitness Pilates is more of a functional approach to the traditional Pilates class. It still applies the main principles of Pilates such as Breathing, Centering, Concentration, Balance and Control. But it also involves more functional movement for every day life. The class consists of a warm up, standing exercises and floor exercises which are all designed with fitness in mind. Fitness Pilates will improve overall muscular strength and balance with the main emphasis on your back and core muscles. It will also help to improve posture, mobility, joint problems and tone your body.
Pilates exercises target the key postural muscles building strength from within creating a girdle of strength around the torso. Joseph Pilates called this the Powerhouse.
Group classes are suitable for all levels as alternatives given to clients who are maybe starting back to exercise following injury, post natal, etc Or if you wish to schedule a one to one session, to focus purely on your individual needs before integrating into a group session, please contact us to check availability.

Fitness Pilates is challenging yet safe exercises that promote a balanced body, a longer, leaner, toned shape, superb posture, a flat stomach, a strong back and increased mobility and flexibility. It also increases strength and endurance, improves balance and co-ordination, all without producing over developed or bulky muscles. It will change and improve poor postural habits also leading to injury prevention.
